New swimwear … Ooopss!!!
Some of the more organised among us have a vast list that they tick off every time they head for the sun, the majority though it’s just a case of last minute rush and whack everything into the suitcase and more often than not last years swimwear gets thrown in as well.
It’s quite easy to forget that like other clothes swimwear can become faded by the sun and affected by being in a chlorinated pool for too long and if not properly cared for can soon become looking like…. Well, like last year’s swimwear. Fortunately all the shops and online retail websites now have the majority of the new collections in so there is no reason not to update your swimwear ready in time for your holiday.
After the huge debate caused by Beckham and his “Speedos” last year it seems fashion houses have taken note and gone heavy on the swim and board shorts , favouring the longer leg rather than the high cut of a Speedo style. Not that I’m complaining, the sight of a rotund gentleman in a Speedo or a swim thong is enough to put you off your 99 flake (with raspberry sauce of course) although a good pair of buns can often be complemented by a thong on the right person.
So just so you don’t get taken down by the poolside fashion police, Speedos out, longer leg in, just make sure you don’t go too over the top, Hawaii prints were bad enough on shirts so choose carefully (there is enough variety out there).
