Winter Skin Care

Tips on how to keep your skin healthy in Winter

Many of us have experienced the winter influence upon their skin.
We all would like to have our face shining and healthy looking even
in the cold months.
No matter what skin type you have in warmer seasons, winter skin care
is as much important as summer skin care.
Even if you have an oily skin, you may suffer from severe skin dehydration
due to prolonged exposure to central air heating, contrasting temperatures,
and harsh winds.

Of course those with sensitive skin suffer most of all.
So, how to get ready for the cold weather?

First and foremost, in winter your skin needs moisture to keep
it supple and healthy. Humectants (to attract and retain moisture)
and emollients (for a smoothing and softening effect) are essential.

Gentle cleansing comes first. Bar soaps are something you should stay away
from, they dry your skin. Cleansers are far better choice, especially
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser with neutral pH it’s gentle on your skin and
sensitive to your skin’s needs, making it excellent for daily facial cleansing.
It washed the sebum clogging our pores (no black dots!), leaving zero residue,
so our skin looked calm and flawless, ready to absorb the moisturizer.

Most people think that using a toner is not so important, but they’re wrong.
Toning is essential especially in winter.A toner is used to remove the remains
of the cleanser. Toner’s also a mild cleanser too, and it can soften your skin
and even leave some vitamins. Most of the toners are acidic or lower on the
PH range. Always tone after cleansing and before moisturizing.

Exfoliate your face skin with gentle non-abrasive Exfoliants once a week.
Exfoliants / scrubs help to eliminate dead skin cells.

Treat your face with a moisturizing mask once a week or after a long exposure
to frosty winter bites. Milk and Honey Masks gently soften and hydrate the sensitive
skin. Vitamin and Revitalizing Masks are also nice option.
You can also prepare home-made face masks using products are near at hand,
such as milk, honey, olive oil, eggs, all of them will feed your skin, and
provide it with a fresh dose of vitamins. (Some recipes for home made face masks
will be added).

Body skin is also undergoes a serious beating by winter.
So it should be treated as gently as the face skin doesn’t matter if we wear fluffy
sweaters and we don’t show much of it in the cold months.
Don’t forget that Christmas is only two months away and you may have the chance to go
to a special Christmas party, wearing a nice backless dress, your skin should be
prepared :)
